Mat Hayman is a household name for any cyclist or triathlete around the world. After almost 20 years in the professional peleton, he has ridden all the grand tours primarily as a respected domestique or helper to the leader of his team. In 2016, Mat fractured his arm a handful of weeks out from one of the famous one day classics - Paris-Roubaix. He went back home to Australia, arm in a cast, on a wind trainer with the faint hope that he would be ready in time for the race.
In this conversation Mat discusses:
✅ The ups and downs of a professional cyclist;
✅ Sitting at the kitchen table, beer in hand with a broken arm, 3 weeks out from Paris Roubaix, having finished an indoor session - doubting if it was worthwhile
✅ His mindset going into the 2016 Paris Roubaix, and how channelling into flowstate was a blessing and a curse going into the finish
✅ His adage 'Just Keep Riding' and how that can be applied to all areas of life.
✅ His number 1 tip for happiness and success.
